~ Long Turk's Head Knots ~

~ Lesson 4 - "long" turk's head knots ~

This will be a very quick lesson! "Long" turk's heads have more "leads" than "bights". They are made the same way as the "narrow" and "square" turk's heads. By "expanding" smaller turk's head knots! In the case of "long" turk's head knots you only have to learn the "2 bight"(even) and "3 bight"(odd) turk's head knots. You can make these "long" turk's head knots as long as your project requires! By using the process of "splitting the pair" using the "mule" you can make any "long" turk's head needed for the project you are making! *(you may need a "mule" that is longer than the 18" "mule" used for the "narrow" and "square" turk's heads!). "Dgtlcwby" from "IGKT-NAB Knot_Chat" sent me these graphics for the basic "2 bight" and "3 bight" "long" turk's head knots.

I do not have any photos of "long" turk's head knots. But I have a feeling that knot tyers around the world will take up the cause and give these nice turk's head a try! "Long" turk's head knots are a natural from flashlights to thermos bottles to just about anything that is long and round!!

I will put your "long" turk's head knot photos here!
